Intel keen to help center roll out cheap Tablet PCs
Kolkata
The Economic Times (Kolkata edition)
Intel India plans to collaborate with the Union HRD ministry to commercially roll out the Rs 1,500 tablet PC for students, whose prototype the government showcased on Thursday. The world’s largest chipmaker intends to provide its technical assistance to the government in terms of design evolution, hardware configuration and bring together OEM manufacturers on the table for the product.
We already have close partnership with the HRD Ministry and will respond to the EoI, said Intel Technology India director (sales and marketing group) Sandeep Aurora. The opportunity is immense for Intel, such as incorporating the processor to look at other PC technologies. We will collaborate with the entire PC eco-system and can act as a good matchmaker as well, he said.
