IT Hardware output up 43 per cent to Rs.94,690 Crore
New Delhi Deccan Herald Business Standard The Statesman The domestic electronics hardware production has grown 43 percent to Rs 94,690 crore in 2008-09 from Rs 66,000 crore in 2006-07, Communication and IT Minister A Raja said. While addressing a meeting of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Communication & IT, Raja said IT and ITeS exports have also grown by about 50 percent to US$47.1 billion from US$31.3 billion in the same period. While electronics hardware production registered a growth of 12.1 percent in 2008-09, IT and ITES exports registered a growth of 16.6 percent in the same year. Electronics hardware production and IT and ITES exports stood at 27.8 percent and 29.4 percent respectively in 2007-08.
