IT Hardware output up 43 per cent to Rs.94,690 Crore

The domestic electronics hardware production has grown 43 percent to Rs 94,690 crore in 2008-09 from Rs 66,000 crore in 2006-07, Communication and IT Minister A Raja said.
While addressing a meeting of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Communication & IT, Raja said IT and ITeS exports have also grown by about 50 percent to US$47.1 billion from US$31.3 billion in the same period. While electronics hardware production registered a growth of 12.1 percent in 2008-09, IT and ITES exports registered a growth of 16.6 percent in the same year. Electronics hardware production and IT and ITES exports stood at 27.8 percent and 29.4 percent respectively in 2007-08.
